Told with a startling narrative sensuality and a deeply photographic landscape, by the by is cinematic serenade towards the tangential and where the ordinary is extraordinary. Using as its canvas travel footage taken while in India and Nepal, airport waits along the way, happened by shenanigans in southern California apartment complexes, messages left on answering machines and quotes by inspiring women artists, by the by revels where place, memory and desire intersects with the sensual experience of a moment. Shot on location in India, Nepal and Southern California.
